Earth Science Enterprise (ESE)

The Earth Science Enterprise (ESE) is NASA's program designed to improve understanding about the total Earth system and the effects of natural and human-induced changes on the global environment. ESE supports investigations into (1) the causes and impacts of long-term climate variability; (2) the global water cycle; (3) the patterns and trends of change in regional land cover, biodiversity, and global land use; (4) the causes and consequences of changes in atmospheric ozone; and (5) the use of remote sensing to characterize disasters and reduce risks from hurricanes, earthquakes, wildfires, volcanoes, floods, and droughts.
