Information for the granule of MOD11_L2.A2000242.0140.002.2000267170352.hdf
on the EOSDIS Data Sampler #2
This granule contains the nine MOD11 scientific data sets (SDSs). Used for a large variety of scientific studies, Land Surface Temperature (LST) combines surface-atmosphere interactions and the energy fluxes between the atmosphere and the ground. No geographical subsetting was performed, but data are masked to clear-sky, non-ocean conditions. The data are contained in nine HDF Scientific Data Sets within MOD11_L2.A2000242.0140.002.2000267170352.hdf, (See the Structural Metadata). These are arrays with rank = 2 and dimensions (2030, 1354); 2030 is the number of data elements in the "along-track" dimension, and 1354 is the number of elements in the "across-track" dimension.

Slope_and_Offset_Usage
The local SDS scale_factor and add_offset attributes are used for the conversion of stored integer data to geophysical floating point numbers. The implementation follows conventional HDF usage (See HDF Users Guide):
float value = scale_factor*(stored integer - add_offset)
The unit of the derived floating point value is indicated in the 'units' local attribute which is also provided.
