Aqua Instrument Data

After a successful launch on May 5, 2002, the instruments on Aqua began science operations on June 2, 2002, following completion of final orbital maneuvers. The release dates of specific data products depend on the complexity of the product and successful calibration and validation. The data quality from all of Aqua's sensors appears to be exceptional. Current and subsequent processing of the data will yield enhanced scientific utility.

Teams of scientists worldwide have already been selected to receive the data to perform research in areas of international concern. Additionally, EOS data and products will be available to all users, without restriction, at no more than the cost of dissemination, regardless of the intended use.

Datasets from Aqua instruments are not contained on this EOSDIS Data Sampler CD-ROM. Examples of data from heritage instruments are provided to give examples of the data that will be available from Aqua instruments for monitoring future ENSO events.
