Pathfinder Mission Overview

The Pathfinder Mission provides access to higher level land geophysical products for times before the launch of Earth Observing System (EOS) satellites. This data reprocessing effort promotes global change research by providing the Earth science community with research quality data derived from long time-series global, space-based observations. The use of Pathfinder observations will help in understanding global climate changes of the Earth as a system.

In October 1990, NOAA and NASA (EOS Program Office) signed an agreement establishing the Pathfinder Mission.
