Weather and Agricultural Data
|
Monthly Distribution of Weather-Related Deaths |
Introduction
Weather affects people directly through storms, (excessive/lack of) rainfall and snowfall, winds, floods, etc. It also affects people indirectly through impact on croplands, forest lands, fisheries, housing, and transportation.
The datasets provided on this CD-ROM, or available via links, are intended to allow determination of the numbers of people affected by an ENSO event. In the "California Agricultural Statistics" presented, look for the differences in "Yield per Acre" from 1997 to 1998, especially for beans, cotton, and rice.
