This CD-ROM contains sample data in HDF-EOS format from the instruments on board the Earth Observing System (EOS) Terra satellite:

  • Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (ASTER)
  • Clouds and the Earth's Radiant Energy System (CERES)
  • Multi-angle Imaging Spectroradiometer (MISR)
  • Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS)
Data from the Measurements of Pollution in the Troposphere (MOPITT) instrument were not available for distribution (as of October 17, 2000).

The remotely sensed, coincident data for the Western U.S. wildfires were acquired August 30, 2000.

This CD-ROM provides information about the Terra mission, instruments, data, and viewing tools. It also provides the Collage tool for viewing data, and links to Web sites containing other digital data processing software.

Full granules of the data on this CD-ROM and other EOS Data and Information System (EOSDIS) data products are available from the NASA Distributed Active Archive Centers (DAACs).
